He graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas and then attended medical school at University of Texas, Galveston. From Texas, he moved to New York City and trained in obstetrics and gynecology at Flushing Hospital Medical Center. After residency he remained in New York City as a clinical assistant professor of obstetrics-gynecology at New York University School of Medicine, working primarily at Bellevue Hospital supervising and teaching ob-gyn residents. Most recently he has been an attending physician in obstetrics and gynocology at the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center in New York City. He is fluent in both Spanish and Mandarin.
